Acrylic maps / wall
TRRA_3D> R4 was a project done in my Artistic residence in Oaxaca city . The Piece started with a wall intervention and a graphic work in paper. I continued the project producing different Wall pieces , looking for recreational opportunities for graphic expansion.
From a single pattern (a upside down Map of Mexico ), I do a multiplicity exercise with hundreds of acrylic pieces to give shape to a series of abstract compositions, which refer to geographical reliefs (Earth). This abstract unit is composed of other tiny land upside down map of Mexico is a clear criticism of political reference. It is a reflection on illusion that has a roll in politics. How a multiplicity factor is raised as an idea of progress. Day by day Multiplicity and expansion , are brewing a environmentally and socially territorial impact.
A specific case is the overpopulation phenomenon of home construction in the hills of the cities. The use of 3D is to make a visual and conceptual play, to create this illusion. Finally, the 3D is an optical effect, to the brain is a visual delusion.
TRRA = ground, 3D = three-dimensional and R4 = Region Four (3rd world)
